This collection consists of constitutions of the Aluminum Workers of America (AWA) and the United Steelworkers of America (USWA), agreements between the aluminum manufacturer ALCOA and the USWA, booklets on Pennsylvania workmen's compensation law, and union elections manuals. There are also obituaries of AWA president Nicholas Zonarich, who led the union through its merger with the USWA.

In 1937, members of the aluminum workers union in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, organized to form the Aluminum Workers of America (AWA) and join the Congress of Industrial Organizations. The United Steelworkers of America (USWA) absorbed the AWA in 1944, and Local 302 came into District 19 of the USWA. Local 302 disbanded in around 1987.
